Not medical advice
Everything on Somapath is written for education. It is not advice about you, and it cannot replace a clinician who knows you.

Who writes this
Somapath's content is written by Opudo Abila, a UK Registered Nurse, advanced practitioner, nurse consultant and independent prescriber with more than ten years in mental health care. It is written for education only, for a general audience — not for your particular situation. Read more on Who wrote this.
What Somapath will never do
- It will never diagnose you or tell you that you have a condition.
- It will never name a dose, or tell you to start, stop or switch a medicine. Medicines are explained at the level of classes only.
- It will never provide therapy, counselling or a chatbot that advises you.
- It will never act as a crisis service, and no one here is monitoring what you write.
Self-report tools here describe patterns only. A pattern is something to discuss with your clinician — it is not a diagnosis.
Always speak to a clinician
For assessment, diagnosis, medicines or treatment, speak to your GP or mental health team. Never delay seeking medical help, and never disregard advice you have been given, because of something you read here. NHS pathway information changes; always verify with your GP or local ICB.
