Independent ADHD assessment and diagnosis

A thorough, independent clinical assessment for ADHD, with a clear diagnostic outcome and a written report.

What this service involves

A structured clinical assessment for ADHD, carried out in line with current NICE guidance. We take a full developmental and current history, use validated rating scales and, where possible, gather information from someone who knew you as a child, such as a parent or sibling. We look carefully at what else could explain or add to the picture, including anxiety, low mood, sleep problems, trauma, autism and physical health factors, so that the outcome is accurate rather than assumed. At the end of the process you receive a clear outcome: whether the criteria for ADHD are met, the reasoning behind that conclusion, and what we recommend next. Where ADHD is diagnosed, the report is written so that your GP or another service can act on it, including if you later wish to consider medication.

Who this is for

Adults who want an independent and thorough ADHD assessment, including people facing a long wait on an NHS list and those who want a clear answer before deciding on next steps.

What you receive

Pre assessment questionnaires, a full clinical assessment appointment, a detailed written diagnostic report with recommendations, a copy for your GP if you wish, and a follow up appointment to talk through the outcome.

Format and duration

Questionnaires completed at home, then a clinical assessment appointment, which can be split across two sessions if that suits you better. Report delivered within an agreed timeframe. Remote.
