What this service involves

A calm, practical session for parents. We talk through what you are noticing, whether it fits a recognised developmental pattern, and what the UK referral routes actually are, including the health visitor, the GP, the school special educational needs coordinator, speech and language therapy, and the community paediatric pathway. We cover sensory needs, sleep, eating, communication and the behaviour other people may be misreading. We will also be straightforward with you about what falls within normal variation, because a great deal of parental worry turns out to be exactly that. This is educational and advisory. We do not diagnose children in this session.

Who this is for

Parents and carers of children and young people, including those already on a waiting list and unsure what to do while they wait.

What you receive

A live session, a written summary, a practical plan for the next three months, and suggested wording for your GP, health visitor or school.

Format and duration

Fifty minutes. Remote. Both parents or carers welcome to attend.

Booking for this service opens shortly. Enquiries welcome.

All services are delivered by a UK registered nurse and independent prescriber holding current NMC registration, enhanced DBS and professional indemnity. Educational and advisory services do not include diagnosis. Services involving direct prescribing to private patients are subject to Care Quality Commission registration and are marked accordingly.
